How to make a digital invitation card for WhatsApp

Updated 24 October 2026 · SubhInvite

A digital invitation card, or e-invite, is a web link your guests open on their phones. It costs a fraction of printed cards, reaches everyone instantly and can be updated any time. Here is how to make one.

What is a digital invitation card?

Instead of a printed card or a heavy PDF, you send a link. When guests open it they see your card with names, photo, date, venue, a countdown and a button for Google Maps directions. They can reply with RSVP from the same page. No app is needed.

Step 1: Choose the occasion and a template

Open the SubhInvite Studio and pick the occasion: wedding, engagement, birthday, anniversary, griha pravesh, baby shower, naming ceremony or party. Then choose a template. Each one has its own layout, such as an arch window, polaroid, scroll or magazine cover.

Step 2: Add names, date and venue

Type the names, choose the date and add the venue and city. For weddings you can add up to 6 functions (haldi, mehndi, sangeet, wedding, reception) with their own dates and times.

Step 3: Make it yours

  • Upload a photo and set its zoom and position.
  • Pick a colour set or your own colours, and one of 10 fonts.
  • Add a pattern, border or toran.
  • Choose an animation: falling petals, curtain reveal, envelope, confetti, balloons or diyas.
  • Write the card in English, Hindi, Punjabi or Hinglish.

Step 4: Publish

When you're happy with the preview, log in with Google or your email, choose a plan and pay by UPI, card or net banking. Your invite gets its own link, for example rahul-weds-priya.subhinvite.in, right away.

Step 5: Send it on WhatsApp

Paste your guest list once. SubhInvite creates a message with each guest's name and a personal link, so you can send it with one tap per guest. You can also send by email or post the link in family groups. You'll see who opened the invite and who replied.

Digital card vs printed card: cost

  • Printed wedding cards often cost anywhere from ₹30 to ₹150 or more per card, plus printing time and delivery.
  • A digital invite on SubhInvite costs ₹499–₹2,499 in total, no matter how many guests you send it to.
  • Changes after sending are free: edit the card and the same link shows the update.

Many families now do both: a few printed cards for elders and a digital invite for everyone else.

Tips for a great e-invite

  • Keep the main text short; put the details in the function list.
  • Always add the Google Maps location.
  • Turn on RSVP so you know the head count for catering.
  • Send a reminder a week before, with the same link.
